About Altinkum: Altinkum is a bustling resort, famed for its golden sands. Situated among several small bays and considered a ‘‘holiday hotspot’’ it has easy access to many of Turkeys historical marvels; Ephesus, Miletos and the Apollon Temple. The main beach gently slopes down to the shallow clear waters of the Aegean Sea which makes it ideal for families with children. The area is blessed with a cooling breeze in the summer that offsets the sizzling heat. Winters are generally mild. Travel time from Bodrum airport is approximately 1hour 15 minutes.
About Akbuk: Akbuk is a dream!! A smaller, quieter resort than Altinkum (a 20 minute bus ride away) where the pine trees stretch down to the sea front. A popular resort for Turkish and British people, but more for those looking for the “retired” lifestyle. A fishing village that still operates its harbour where there are both large and small fishing craft. There are two weekly outdoor markets and bars and restaurants are dotted on the sea front. Akbuk is basically a villa only area and like Altinkum is in the midst of a property boom. British are buying in this area either with the view of investment in land or living. Travel time from Bodrum airport is 1 hour.
